I'm José, a Software Engineer with a full-stack approach. I build React and TypeScript web interfaces, C#/.NET APIs, and applications backed by PostgreSQL. My work includes frontend, mobile, and full-stack projects alongside production systems for emergency services, healthcare SaaS, and referral tracking.

I earned my B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering from Saint Leo University in May 2026. I also completed the intensive Fullstack Development bootcamp at Campuslands, where I specialized in the .NET ecosystem, databases, and software architecture.

My projects include this React and TypeScript portfolio, a Flask task app with authentication and persistent data, a Formula 1 frontend built with Web Components and Three.js, and a Kotlin Android app. They cover user interfaces, API integration, server-side validation, and deployment.

At Planeta IP, I developed production C#/.NET APIs and worked on PostgreSQL schema design, migrations, authentication, reporting, integrations, and support. I enjoy designing clear responsibilities across the interface, application logic, and data. My interests include performance, security, distributed systems, and cloud technologies.

    Software Engineer (.NET)

    Planeta IP Comunicaciones SAS ESP

    Oct 2025 to Oct 6, 2026

    • Delivered production features across emergency-services, healthcare SaaS, and referral-tracking products at Planeta IP. Owned database design and migrations, ASP.NET Core APIs, integrations, deployment readiness, and production support.
    • Designed maintenance and work-order workflows for an emergency-services platform, including maintenance plans, hour-meter tracking, and findings aggregation.
    • Moved business logic from PostgreSQL stored procedures into Clean Architecture layers. Used FluentValidation, Dapper, parameterized SQL, CTEs, pagination, batched queries, and Unit of Work transactions.
    • Rebuilt authentication with short-lived JWTs in HttpOnly cookies, refresh-token rotation, hashed token storage, throttling, and API-wide session enforcement. Removed 78 client-supplied user ID fields to prevent impersonation and added file-signature validation for uploads.
    • Led analysis of a PostgreSQL 17 healthcare SaaS database with 846 functions, 219 tables, and 39 million rows. Built Node.js and SQL tooling to trace dependencies and identify unreachable objects.
    • Safely removed 232 functions, 25 tables, 11 views and materialized views, and 31 foreign keys, freeing 491 MB while preserving all live data and backend calls. Verified 25 pg_dump backups and moved integration ports into the Application layer.
    • As the main backend developer for a referral-tracking system, built a versioned REST API with centralized error handling, standardized responses, rate limiting, JWT authentication, RBAC, and hierarchical authorization.
    • Built Dapper-based reporting, PDF and Excel exports, Dockerized font configuration, and Gemini-powered AI features with caching and audit trails. Used Claude Code and Codex for architecture planning, code review, and implementation support.

How I approach engineering.

Clear responsibilities

I separate interface behavior, business rules, and data access so each component has a clear responsibility. React components, typed contracts, Clean Architecture, and SOLID guide how I organize applications.

Identity and validation

I pair client-side form feedback with server-side validation and authorization. My work includes JWT session handling, refresh-token rotation, RBAC, upload checks, and Zod-validated forms.

Verify before release

I check database dependencies and backups before migrations, and test user flows through the browser. I use Node.js and SQL verification tooling, Vitest, and Playwright to check behavior from forms to server responses.
